The B-2 Spirit is Stealth and multi-role bomber capable of delivering each conventional and nuclear munitions. together with the B-52 and B-1B, the B-2 provides the penetrating flexibility and effectiveness inherent in manned bombers. Its low-observable, or "stealth" characteristics provides it a unique ability to penetrate an enemy's most refined defenses and threaten its most valued, and heavily defended, targets. Its capability to penetrate air defenses and threaten effective retaliation was expected offer an efficient deterrent and combat force well into the 21st century.

The B-2 was designed to to deliver gravity nuclear and standard weapons, as well precision-guided standoff weapons. An interim, precision-guided bomb capability known as global Positioning System (GPS) Aided Targeting System/GPS Aided Munition (GATS/GAM) was tested and evaluated. Initially the bomber's principal weapon was the 2,000-pound Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM, GBU-31).

Four General electric F118-GE-100 non-afterburning turbofan engines (each delivering approximately 19,000 lbs. of thrust) drive the airplane to a most speed described as "high subsonic," and to altitudes close to 50,000 ft. They also offer an unrefueled range of approximately 6,000 nautical miles. one aerial refueling extends this to some 10,000 miles and multiple visits to air tankers stretches the range indefinitely.

The B-1B Lancer developed by Rockwell International, now Boeing Defense And space group, it's the US Air Force long-range strategic bomber. The B-1B is a multi-role, long-range bomber, capable of flying intercontinental missions without refueling, then penetrating present and predicted refined enemy defenses.

The aircraft can accomplish a range of missions, including that of a standard weapons carrier for theater operations. Through 1991, the B-1 was committed to the nuclear deterrence role as a part of the only integrated operational plan (SIOP). changing the B-1B to the standard role was a gradual method, starting in 1993 and culminating in October 1997 when the 7th Bomb Wing at Dyess AFB flew the last nuclear mission.

The B-1B is provided with four 30,000lb thrust category F101-GE-102 turbofan engines from General electric. An in-flight refuelling receptacle permits refuelling from a KC-10 or a KC-135 tanker. it can fly till 1,448km/h. Its service ceiling is 9,144m. The aircraft weighs around 86,182kg and its most take-off weight is 216,363kg.

The B-36 Peacemaker was the greatest of all American bombers produced. Its wingspan 230 feet was almost a fifty percent greater than that of the great B-52 that replaced it. During his eight years of service, which is one of a force to deter U.S. aggression by a potential enemy. It was "keep the peace." It is famous for its "never a shot being fired in anger."

Development of the huge plane began in 1941, when it seems that Britain would soon fall to Nazi Germany. The Army Air Force wanted a bomber that could fly from America to Europe, drop bombs, then return (combat radius) The first prototype flew on August 8, 1946. The first operational models were delivered to Strategic Air Command 1948. There were many problems with them and the fleet was not fully operational until 1951.

The B-36 achieved its design goal. Its combat radius with a load of 10,000 pounds (a small nuclear bomb) was 3740 miles nautical. With its maximum bomb load of 86,000 pounds (conventional bombs), its combat radius was reduced to 1757 miles nautical.

The B-52 Stratofortress is a long-range, heavy bomber that can perform a variety of missions. The B-52 was originally designed for high altitude weapons delivery on target.
